A little positive feedback goes a long way and means so much!

I wanted to share this feedback we received recently after a ECU remap – Excellent improvement on fuel consumption!

“We had a ECU remap done on our Fiat Ducato motorhome in early December 2022. I thought I would give it a good run before passing judgement on any improvements. Well I am extremely impressed!

We left Nelson and towed the Jimny over the Takaka Hill both ways before returning to Blenheim before Christmas. The amount of additional power from the ECU remap was remarkable and the Ducato never struggled (we never felt we were holding anyone up due to being too slow) at all up the hill. Another noticeable improvement was the fuel consumption. We used to get around 12.8 litres to 100km under normal driving (not towing) conditions. This was our first trip towing the Jimny so I don’t have any previous towing fuel consumption figures to compare, but for the trip Takaka (filled up in Takaka), Farewell Spit and then return to Blenheim via SH63 we got 12.2 litres per 100km – an improvement, towing over non-towing, of 0.6 litres per 100km.

We have now just returned from a trip to Christchurch (not towing). Our fuel usage for the entire trip was 10.5 litres to 100km (it was 12.8 litres to 100km before the ECU remap), so am able to say we have also improved our fuel consumption by 18%! Again the additional power was very noticeable especially on the hilly road between Kaikoura and Cheviot.
